BMW F Series and G Series compatibility

Available configurations cover BMW F10, F11, F07, F15 and F25 in compatible versions from the 2010-2017 period. This includes the 5 Series, X3, X5 and some compatible M variants provided in the dedicated configurator.

For more recent generations, BMW G30, G31, G01, G05 and G06 have a suitable customisation base. If you are looking for a BMW F10 steering wheel, it is important to distinguish this architecture from newer versions, because the shapes, controls and some equipment can vary depending on the model year.

What changes from one generation to another

From one generation to the next, the control areas are not arranged in exactly the same way. The cut-outs, spokes, rim shape and the presence of paddles require work that respects the original base of each compatible model.

The central airbag remains the original one. Depending on the model year, steering wheel heating, gearshift paddles and the layout of the multifunction controls also need to be considered before any work is carried out.

On a 5 Series, an X3 or an X5, these differences directly affect the build method. That is why compatibility is always assessed by generation and original base, not by the model name alone.

Materials and custom options for BMW

The choice of materials changes both the visual result and the feel in the hands. Woven carbon gives a regular, technical pattern, while forged carbon has a more mineral and varied appearance. Alcantara brings a matte touch, Nappa offers a softer grain, and perforated leather adds a more breathable texture.

Customisation can also cover the stitching, the 12 o'clock marker, the flat-bottom shape and the finish of the side sections. The aim is to keep the BMW interior character while adapting grip and contrast to suit the intended use.

For a BMW X3 steering wheel or a configuration intended for a saloon such as the 5 Series, the balance between material, perceived thickness and finishing details matters as much as the appearance. Each specification is built to order in our workshop.

Fitting, checks and care

Professional fitting is recommended. It allows the controls, paddles, heating if fitted, and refitting to the column to be checked properly and in the right conditions.

Before dispatch, a pre-dispatch check, recorded and dated, is carried out. The follow-up also includes an SGS inspection and a 5-year warranty.

For care, suitable products should be used for the chosen material. Alcantara should be cleaned methodically and without over-wetting, while Nappa leather and perforated leather need regular care to preserve their feel and appearance over time.
