Audi RS wheel compatibility by generation
Compatibility depends first on the vehicle generation. For Audi RS4, RS5, S4 and S5 in the B8 generation, and RS6 and RS7 in the C7 generation, the available configurations are not the same as on later versions.
On B8 and C7 platforms, the control layout, spoke shape and paddle integration vary depending on the model year. On B9 and C8 platforms, there is a different base for the RS4 Avant, RS5, RS6 Avant and RS7 Sportback, with equipment details to check against the original specification.
The key point is simple. The rebuild is carried out from your original part. That keeps the controls in the right place and maintains consistency with the equipment already fitted to the car.
What changes between B8, C7, B9 and C8
From one generation to another, you need to check the steering controls, the paddle type, the airbag shape and, depending on the model year, the heating option. These points affect the base used and the way the part is rebuilt in our workshop.
B8 and C7 models have ergonomics typical of their period, with spokes and interfaces that differ from B9 and C8 versions. More recent cars can also have specific details in the trim inserts, the rim design or the grip area.
Before dispatch, a pre-dispatch check, recorded and dated, is carried out. An SGS inspection is also mentioned for manufacturing traceability.
Audi carbon fiber steering wheel finishes and trim choices
The final look depends heavily on the material chosen. Woven carbon gives a regular and technical pattern. Forged carbon has a more mineral and contrasted appearance. Alcantara adds a matte touch, while Nappa and perforated leather create a more classic or more focused look depending on the combination selected.
Personalisation also covers the stitching, the 12 o'clock marker, the shape with or without a flat bottom, and the finish of the side sections. On Audi RS4, RS5, RS6 and RS7, the usual approach is to echo the cabin design rather than break the visual balance.
The paddles can be retained depending on the base and the original configuration. The aim is to keep the integration neat and consistent with the controls already present in the vehicle.
Fitting, care and warranty
Fitting should be handled by a professional. That is the right way to remove and refit the assembly while respecting the original equipment, especially when the vehicle has specific controls or steering wheel heating depending on the model year.
Care depends on the material selected. Alcantara needs gentle and regular cleaning. Nappa and perforated leather respond best to suitable products used without excess. Carbon can be cleaned with a clean, slightly damp microfibre cloth.
Each build comes with a 5-year warranty. If you are not having it fitted by your usual workshop, you can rely on more than 100 partner garages.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know if my Audi RS4, RS5, RS6 or RS7 is compatible?
Compatibility is checked according to the model year and the vehicle generation. The main points are the original base, the controls, the paddles and whether heating is present.
Is the airbag retained?
Yes. Original airbag kept is part of the rebuild principle. The part is reworked from the vehicle's original wheel base.
Should it be fitted by a professional?
Yes, professional fitting is recommended. It is especially important when the car has specific controls or steering wheel related equipment.
What care is needed for Alcantara, leather or carbon?
Alcantara should be cleaned gently and regularly. Leather, perforated leather and carbon need suitable products and straightforward care without aggressive cleaning.
What is the lead time for an Audi carbon fiber steering wheel?
Each build is made to order in our workshop. The timing depends on the chosen configuration and the original base being reworked.
