Ford compatibility: what changes from one generation to another

On Ford models, the main differences between generations concern the steering wheel controls, the spoke shape, the presence of paddles and, on some vehicles, heating. This is especially true between Mustang, F-150 Raptor, Bronco and Focus ST or RS.

For Mustang, the GT, EcoBoost, Mach 1 and Shelby versions covered by the configurator share a working base defined for their generation. On F-150, F-150 Raptor, Ranger Raptor and Bronco platforms, integration depends on the architecture of the original wheel and its equipment.

For Focus, the MK3 base must be distinguished from the MK4 base. depending on the model year, the controls, hub design and some trim details are not the same, which is why it matters to check the collection and configurator linked to the correct vehicle.

What bespoke work keeps from the original f150 steering wheel base

The work is carried out on the original wheel base. This keeps the control integration and original airbag kept, with a result that remains consistent with the vehicle concerned.

Where the vehicle is fitted with paddles, they can be carried over with the correct fit. The same principle applies to the hand positions, any flat-bottom shape and the cut-outs linked to the original configuration.
